EGG uses hands-on activities to share environmental knowledge. We engage with diverse audiences throughout Effingham County.
Kids Bike League Camp
EGG provides hands-on environmental sessions for the Kids Bike League Camp, a program of the Georgia Hi-Lo Trail.

An EGG booth in the Fire Festival, at the Warnell Forest Education Center shows how Indigenous people used fire and companion planting. Visitors make their own seed packets to plant Native American gardens.

EGG makes and delivers fast-pace, interactive environmental presentations at Effingham College & Career Academy (ECCAA). (We don't actually eat bugs!)

EGG partners with organizations like the Savannah Tree Foundation to help plant native trees at places such as the Effingham YMCA. A shady tree providing food and shelter for animals is an education in itself!

Earth Day Festival
EGG designs, administers, and co-sponsors (with the City of Guyton) the annual Earth Day Festival in April. Free, fun, and educational, the festival includes over 20 booths with hands-on activities, live music, make-and-takes, green vendors, prizes, contests, a GIANT Insect Parade, and immersive exhibits.

Lively music by the Effingham Community Orchestra lends a festive air to the Earth Day Festival along the Guyton walking trail downtown. Enjoy the melodies!

Visitors try out the wetlands models to see how clear-cutting our forests can create flooding and polluted water in Effingham County. Come discover ways to protect our wetlands.

See a live honey bee hive (safely behind glass) to learn about how bees pollinate most of the plants we eat. Buy some honey while you are there at the Dream On Honey booth.

Festival vendors have good-for-the environment items, such as these whimsical, harmonious wind chimes made of recycled items by Upcycled Art Creations.

Enjoy the Earth Day Festival (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) on a Saturday in April, along the shady, smooth downtown Guyton Walking Trail. The festival begins where the annual Spring Sale on the Trail ends. Have a good time at both!
